WHAT TO DO IN MALLORCA IN THE SPRING

Spring is here! And it's one of the best seasons to visit Mallorca. As it arrives, the weather becomes milder, the days get longer and there are more outdoor activities to enjoy.

If you're thinking of travelling to Mallorca in the spring, we've compiled some great things to do on the island at this time of the year. It's the favourite season for many tourists and, above all, for sports enthusiasts of all levels, who usually take advantage of this season to take a trip to the island of Mallorca and enjoy their passion like never before.

Visit the almond blossom fields. The fields of the Part Forana in Mallorca are bathed in white at springtime, and it's a real sight to behold. The almond trees blossom also during the spring, creating a stunning visual display in the island's countryside.

Hiking or trekking in the Serra de Tramuntana. Located in the north of the island, the Serra de Tramuntana was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO due to its stunning natural beauty, landscape and heritage. There are countless paths and tracks running through the Serra de Tramuntana. These are ideal for hiking and days out, and the breathtaking scenery will leave you speechless.

In particular, the Serra de Tramuntana, which is considered one of the most impressive cycling spots in Europe. More than 100 km that take you from Pollença to Andratx, passing by Puig Major, the highest point on the island, and travelling through beautiful villages such as Sóller and Valldemossa. Once in Pollença, you simply mustn't miss the route to the Cap de Formentor, which offers unique, spectacular views.

Playing golf. Mallorca's great climate makes it possible to play golf on the island practically all year round. However, spring is undoubtedly the favourite season for golf lovers, and there are numerous golf courses that offer an exclusive, private atmosphere, and courses with plenty of challenges.

Enjoy the Easter festivities and cuisine. Easter is greatly celebrated all over the island of Mallorca. During these festivities, tradition takes to the streets. Most of the island's villages hold impressive processions and many churches stage the descent of Christ from the Cross, popularly known as "Davallament". It's a very solemn symbolic event that you shouldn't miss if you're thinking of travelling to Mallorca at Easter. And if you're going to spend your Easter holidays in Mallorca, be sure to try the traditional empanadas, ensaimadas and robiols,  typical food that Mallorcans usually cook and eat at this time of year. You can buy them in most of the island's bakeries, bars, restaurants and cafés.
