The Capdepera Lighthouse, together with the Artrutx Lighthouse on Menorca, marks the channel that separates the two islands at its narrowest point. It is a defensive tower built in the 13th century. It served as a lookout against pirate attacks and also as a refuge. This unique building has very few counterparts in Europe with similar characteristics. Once the attacks ceased, the Tower of Canyamel was transformed into a farmhouse, and today it houses a museum and a restaurant.

Castillo de Capdepera
Aunque el lugar donde se encuentra ha sido ocupado desde la época prehistórica, el castillo de Capdepera se construyó bajo el mandato del rey Jaume II en el año 1300. Era un pueblo fortificado con viviendas humildes en su interior. Su época de máxima ocupación fueron los siglos XVI y XVII, cuando sus pobladores recibían constantes ataques piratas. Hoy es el máximo reclamo turístico de Capdepera.
